The clients are exceptional cooks and entertainers. The first floor was redesigned to open up the space for a chefs kitchen, hor d’ourves sitting area, flexible dining area for large or small parties and separate formal living room with a fireplace.
The previous staircase was centered and enclosed creating a narrow & dark floor plan. The new design placed the stair as a focal point with an exposed decorative railing and took advantage of the existing skylight that significantly enhanced the natural light into both floors. The second floor was redesigned into a master suite, two guest bedrooms and a guest bath.
Phase two of the project was to redesign the front stair and porch using smooth and rock face limestone and add a new limestone arch to create a defined entry point to the lower level. Phase three will be to design the lower level to integrate with the rest of the house to achieve a spacious three level residence. This project will add a media center, wet bar, enclosed wine cellar, bedroom, full bath and laundry.
